Milwaukee vigil honors George Floyd 3 years after his death

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A vigil was held at the George Floyd mural to commemorate Floyd, and other victims of police violence.

Thursday, May 25, marks three years since Floyd was killed by Minneapolis police.

As you probably remember, protests were held around the world after his death.

Organizers from the Milwaukee Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression say, while this is a reminder of life loss, it's also a reminder of the work being done.

"George Floyd's death is a reminder that since his death there have been more deaths, and there's a lot more work to be done, and there's a lot of good work that we have done that we need to celebrate," said Lauryn Cross, Milwaukee Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression.

A moment of silence was held at the end of the vigil for everyone who has died by police violence.
