MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Jason Moon marks his trauma through the passage of time. Moon returned from military service in Iraq in 2004 suffering with post-traumatic stress disorder, leading to an eventual suicide attempt in 2008. During his recovery he discovered singing songs about his experiences helped process the events he experienced in manageable ways. It was then, in 2011 when he decided to create Warrior Songs.
This month, the non-profit that helps veterans heal through the arts released a new album featuring the stories of Milwaukee Vietnam veterans titled “The Last Thing We Ever Do”.
Moon joined Rose Schmidt on CBS 58 Sunday Morning to talk about the healing power of music.
