Milwaukee VA Medical Center looking to hire nurses

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Veterans Association Medical Center is looking to hire experienced nurses. On Tuesday, there will be a nursing career fair held at the Milwaukee VA Medical Center.

The fair comes at a time when state officials are predicting a shortage of qualified nurses in the coming decade. In response the University of Wisconsin System nursing schools launched an effort to train more nursing instructors and ramp up enrollment earlier this year.

The VA is looking for nurses with two to three years of experience but is willing to consider candidates with less. Several shifts are available. Current VA nurses will be on hand to speak with potential candidates at the fair and answer questions.

The fair runs from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. inside the Matousek Auditorium. All attendees should bring a resume as applications will be taken the day of the event.
