Milwaukee teenagers arrested ten minutes after attempted armed robbery

Ten minutes after an attempted armed robbery of a car two Milwaukee teenagers were identified by Milwaukee Police by their red hooded sweatshirts.


District Seven officers responded to the 3100 block of North 55th Street around 12:15 a.m. on August 22 where they met with the armed robbery victim, a 57-year-old Milwaukee woman. 


The victim told officers two male suspects wearing red hooded sweatshirts attempted to rob her of her vehicle at gunpoint. The suspects were unsuccessful and fled from the scene on foot. Approximately ten minutes later, officers on patrol in the 3200 block of N. 53rd Street saw two males wearing red hooded sweatshirts standing on the sidewalk. One of the suspects, a 14-year-old male from Milwaukee, was immediately taken into custody and a loaded 9mm pistol was found in his backpack.

 
The second suspect, a 16-year-old male from Milwaukee, ran away from officers but following a foot chase, was taken into custody in the 5400 block of W. Louise Place. The suspects face charges of Armed Robbery and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon. MPD will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days
