Milwaukee teen hospitalized following early morning shooting

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An investigation is ongoing following a shooting on Friday, May 12 that reportedly left a 16-year-old girl injured.

The Milwaukee Police Department reports that it occurred at around 3:30 a.m. near 22nd and W. Brown St. The young victim, suffering from a non-fatal injury, was reportedly transported to Children's Wisconsin.

An investigation of the circumstances behind the shooting are ongoing, according to MPD, with the department searching for potential suspects.
