MILWAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- New developments in a deadly reckless driving crash.
A Milwaukee teen accused of causing a crash that killed her younger sister appeared in court Wednesday morning and changed her plea in the case. Zaneah Spadaro changed her plea in the case to guilty.
Prosecutors say the 17-year-old was driving without a valid license, reaching speeds of more than 100 miles per hour when she lost control of the car. The crash happened back in May on an early Sunday morning on I-794 in Cudahy.
According to court documents, Spadaro told deputies she was driving fast and didn't see the curve on the road until it was too late. Her younger sister, Zamari, was thrown from the vehicle and died. She was just 14 years old.
In court, Spadaro waived her right to a trial and the court accepted her guilty plea.
A sentencing date has been set for Oct. 6. Spadaro is facing up to six years in prison.
