MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Peter Mahler, a Milwaukee-based recruiter, is speaking to CBS 58 about his connection to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

He worked with Epstein in 2013 to find him a personal assistant. The relationship appears to have soured when Epstein refused to pay for Mahler's recruiting services.

"The revelations about Jeffrey Epstein are abhorrent," he told us on Thursday, Feb. 5.

Mahler also says he would never have worked with Epstein if he had known then what is known now about the financier's crimes.

"Knowing what we know now, we would never have worked with him under any circumstances."

Mahler has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
