Milwaukee ready for Bastille Days

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's annual French Festival, Bastille Days, kicks off on Thursday. The first 1,000 people in attendance at Cathedral Square Park will receive a free slice of cake inspired by the Parisian monument, the Arc de Triomphe.

The first day of the festival will have live music and chef demonstrations most of the day along with mini French lessons at 12:45, 3:45, 5:20 and 7 p.m. 

Milwaukee Brewing Company will unveil an exclusive brew created just for Bastille Days that will be tapped at 5:30 p.m. by Mayor Tom Barrett. 

The festival hours are 11 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
