Milwaukee Public Museum partners with Meat on the Street to offer diverse dining options
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Public Museum has partnered with Meat on the Street, a local Filipino-inspired restaurant, food truck and catering company, to manage the museum’s café and coffee kiosk starting in early March.
According to a press release issued by the museum on Friday, Feb. 24, visitors will be able to enjoy a blend of traditional Filipino dishes, American food options and authentic Mexican options.
The kiosk will also serve coffee, Filipino beverages and some grab-and-go breakfast items.
"We are thrilled to welcome Meat on the Street to the Milwaukee Public Museum," said Rebecca Ehlers, the museum's Vice President of Marketing, Communications & Visitor Experience.
She added, "This is an exciting opportunity to enhance Museum visitors’ dining experiences and support local entrepreneurs as they take this next step in growing their business."
Meat on the Street are set to leave their brick-and-mortar food stall at Eleven25 to begin operations at the museum.
Co-founder and owner Alexa Alfaro shared, "It’s come full circle. My dad came here, got to live the American dream, provide a better life for his kids, and now we’ve opened a food business that he’s always dreamed of for us."
The new menu features a unique blend of Asian and Spanish ingredients and caters to most dietary preferences, including meat, vegan and gluten-free options.
The exact date of the opening within the museum's dining space has yet to be announced, but visitors will have access the café and coffee kiosk without a museum admission via the ground floor entrance off of Wells Street.
