Milwaukee Police Use "Where's My Droid" to Find Suspected Armed Robbers

Milwaukee Police used “Where’s my Droid” app to find a victim’s cell phone and armed robbery suspects.

The robbery happened around 11:05 p.m. on Saturday in the 700 block of W. Lapham Boulevard when an unknown male suspect approached the victim, a 30-year-old woman from Milwaukee.

The suspect put an object to the woman’s back and demanded her belongings.

The suspect stole the victim’s cell phone and two pieces of jewelry. Using the “Where’s My Droid” app, officers were directed to the 1700 block of W. National Avenue. At that location, the officers found the suspect who had the cell phone and jewelry on him as well as a BB gun.

The suspect, a 41-year-old Milwaukee man and convicted felon, was arrested and faces charges of Armed Robbery. MPD will present this case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office for charges in the coming days.
