Milwaukee Police Searching for Suspect in Attempted Carjacking

A juvenile was arrested after allegedly committing an armed robbery / attempted carjacking that happened around 6:10 PM on March 21 in the 400 block of West Center Street.

A 35-year-old Milwaukee woman was approached by two male suspects, one of them armed with a gun, who demanded her vehicle.

One of the suspects began to strike the victim while the other stole her purse from inside the vehicle and fled from the scene on foot. Officers responded and took a 16-year-old Milwaukee male into custody and recovered a revolver on him.

MPD will present the case against him to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the coming days. The victim’s purse was found behind a home in the 2600 block of N. 4th Street. MPD is still seeking the second suspect.
