MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a fatal shooting that left a 52-year-old woman dead early Thursday morning. 

It happened around 2:25 a.m. near Farwell and Albion on Thursday, Jan. 13.

Milwaukee police said the woman suffered a single gunshot wound and succumbed to her injuries on scene despite lifesaving efforts by Milwaukee Fire Department personnel.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are still under investigation. Milwaukee police are looking for an unknown suspect.
