Milwaukee boy abducted at gunpoint still not home, aunt says
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department says goodbye to summer with a community barbecue.
The free event was the first to be put on by the department's new Police Community Foundation.
Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales says the foundation began earlier this year. It helps the department get resources that can't be obtained through the city's budget.
"Through the foundation we're able to bring some beverages and some food, hot dogs and brats, to kind of get the conversation going," said Morales. "And for them to get their perspective -- the foundation to get their perspective with the community on some of the needs and some of the struggles that police are going through."
Morales says the foundation will hold more of these community events in the future.
