MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee Police Department officer took one for the team on Friday, Oct. 18.
Captain John Corbett of MPD's Sensitive Crimes Division shaved his head at the Sojourner Family Peace Center.
Recently, the sister of another officer was diagnosed with breast cancer. As the commander of the unit, Captain Corbett said, 'If you raise $1,000 to help the family, I'll shave my head."
His team members quickly raised the money.
"We're like a big family, so when this diagnosis came down its not just Teresa's sister Maria, its Teresa at work its all of us it affects everybody so as a community we all got together lets all start a fundraiser try to make awareness its breast cancer awareness month"
Not only did the officers raise the $1,000, they actually raised $1,300.
