Milwaukee police arrest suspect in attempted sexual assault

Milwaukee police say a suspect in a recent sexual assault attempt on the city's east side is now in custody.

Authorities arrested the man just before midnight December 15 near 6th and Locust streets.

Officials say the man could be connected to an attempted assault that happened around 7 p.m. December 12 near Bremen and Chambers streets. A 25-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk when the suspect forced her into a small park. The suspect struck the woman in the face several times, but the woman fought back and was able to escape.
