Milwaukee Police responded to the 4700 block of West Brentwood Avenue on Wednesday, May 24 around 1:00 PM to check for a child abuse suspect.
The suspect allegedly hit a 5-year old family member causing the child enough serious injuries that they had to go to the hospital.
Police had reason to believe the suspect had a gun with him inside his home. A tactical unit responded to the scene and forced entry into the house where they found a dead woman.
Police are investigating the death of the woman as a murder and believe the same man killed the woman and abused the child.
The suspect, identified as a 49-year-old man, was arrested by Milwaukee Police in Racine County.
