MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- In lieu of the lakefront fireworks celebration being canceled, the City of Milwaukee is reminding residents that other celebrations will be held across the city.
Twelve parks throughout Milwaukee will have various activities to celebrate the Fourth of July including talent shows, eating competitions, and more. Ten out of the 12 locations will have fireworks. Mayor Cavalier Johnson says the holiday is a reminder of ways to bring the city together.

- Jackson Park
- Humboldt Park
- Gordon Park
- Lake Park
- King Park (No fireworks - celebration only)
“This year’s theme – 'Working Together for a Better USA.' Captures the spirit of the Fourth of July. While we celebrate independence, let’s remember the importance of collective action and building a stronger city and unified nation," said Mayor Johnson.
City staff say while there are multiple events happening throughout the city, they are still in need of volunteers.
“We need your support. Wilson Park primarily, we need a lot of volunteers. We need people in the parade. We need all the community support," said Roy Suarez del Real, the president of Wilson Park Parade Committee.
