Milwaukee officially taking applications for Interim Police Chief

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- On Friday January 12 the Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission released the job announcement for the Interim Police Chief for the Milwaukee Police Department.

The opening is only available to internal candidates. The job application period will stay open for a week until 11:59 p.m on Friday, January 19.

Current Milwaukee Police Chief Flynn will retire on February 16. The new chief will start February 17 and will serve until a permanent chief is selected.

Job qualifications according to the posting include two years of leadership experience with the MPD serving as a current or former Captain or above, minimum of ten years of experience in law enforcement and lives in Milwaukee. 

The pay range for the Interim Chief is $103,841 to $145,381.
