Milwaukee no longer in consideration to host 2016 DNC

MILWAUKEE -- The Democratic National Committee is no longer considering the City of Milwaukee as a host city for their 2016 Democratic National Convention.

In a letter addressed to Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett thanked the DNC for considering Milwaukee and hoped they would consider the city for future conventions.

In his letter, Mayor Barrett notes that the possibility of the 2016 Democratic National Convention being moved up from fall to summer to compete with an early Republican National Convention. A summer event would conflict with several events already scheduled to take place in Milwaukee.
