Milwaukee Night Market brings in thousands of attendees

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The first Milwaukee Night Market of the year is in the books.

“It represents restaurant tours, makers, artists,” said Stacie Callies, the Executive Director of Westown Association.  "It's just a little bit of everything."

With more than 100 vendors featuring of all sorts of good eats, local merchandise and artists, Milwaukee’s Night Market showcases all the city has to offer.

“I love the food, vendors and all of the like goodies," said Christine Bain who attended the event. "The t-shirts, the Milwaukee Pride, all the jewelry and trinkets, and then the butterfly vendor and the arts vendors.”

While some people got to experience their first Night Market as a vendor or attendee, others continue to keep coming back for more. Scott Baitinger, who runs the Street-za Pizza food truck says he hasn't missed a Night Market.

"We were at the first Night Markets back when it was much smaller than it is today and we’ve been blessed to be invited back,“ said Baitinger.

He continues to cook up some fresh pizza every year for familiar and new faces. He says it's an event like no other.

"It’s a really an awesome diverse crowd," said Baitinger. "Everyone is enjoying all the different vendors, all the different foods and activities. It’s just, it’s a great kind of micro-Milwaukee.”

The next Milwaukee Night Market is Wednesday, July 16th. The event takes place along West Wisconsin Avenue between 2nd Street & Vel R. Phillips Avenue.
