Milwaukee man found guilty in homicide of 1-year-old shot while riding in car
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man was found guilty in the murder of a 1-year-old girl in a verdict read Thursday, Feb. 1.
Twenty-eight-year-old Davon Chapman was convicted of first-degree intentional homicide and for possession of a firearm by a felon.
The case dates back to June of 2023, when police say Chapman fired shots at a car driven by the father of 1-year-old Zy'Aire Nevels.
The little girl was sitting in a car seat when she was hit and killed by the gunfire.
Thursday's homicide conviction carries a life sentence.
Davon Chapman's sentencing date is March 8.
