Milwaukee man claims $22 million Megabucks prize
A Milwaukee man claimed the largest jackpot in Megabucks history Friday afternoon.
John Rumpel decided to take the lump sum cash option cutting the jackpot from $ 22 million to $15.7 million.
His numbers hit on May 30th and he has his wife to thank.
She told him to go buy some milk and that's when he noticed the jackpot and added $20 extra worth of quick picks.
\"I was sitting at home actually finished doing some work at night and flipped on the ten o'clock news on Monday night,\" recalled Rumpel. \"It wasn't until after the drawing flipped on the news and saw the winning ticket was sold in Milwaukee and saw this convenience store there and went 'wow man' that might be me.\"
The store \"A and I Services\" on West Howard Avenue also is a winner.
The owner will received $100,000 for selling the winning ticket.
