Milwaukee Man arrested in Racine for Stealing Company Truck in Brookfield

A Milwaukee man allegedly stole a work vehicle from Brookfield and took it on a joy ride to the lighthouse in Racine County.

According to the criminal complaint, the incident occurred on Tuesday.

Racine County Sheriff’s Department were contacted by Brookfield Police about a stolen vehicle at the Windpoint Lighthouse.

OnStar pinged the stolen vehicle to the location.

When officers arrived they noticed the black Chevy Silverado traveling in the village of Caledonia.

Trequis Fields told officers he used to work for American Dream Home and the truck belonged to them.

He allegedly said he had an argument with the company over money, and he decided to keep the truck instead of returning it.

Fields said the company had requested he return the truck the prior week.

Officers noted the truck smelled like marijuana. Fields told the officer he did not smoke marijuana, but that his brother smokes marijuana.

Fields was charged with operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent.
