Milwaukee man accused in alleged sex slave ring facing additional charges
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man charged in a human trafficking and sexual assault case is now facing additional charges.
Austin Chronister was first arrested in March. The 39-year-old is accused of running a sex slave ring inside his home near 31st and W. State Street, which he named ‘House Saint Pierre.’
On Tuesday, six more felony charges were filed: three counts of human trafficking, and one count each of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault, 2nd Degree Reckless Injury, and Strangulation and Suffocation.
Chronister was arrested again on Tuesday after a warrant was issued. He had previously posted a $75,000 bond after his previous arrest.
Newly filed court records detail police interviews with three more victims, all women who lived in the house with Chronister.
One woman told police she was married when she began living at the house in December of 2023, and that Chronister allowed her to stay married “for a while,” but then told her to leave her husband.
She said Chronister told her “if she did not come live with him, then he would have her husband killed.”
Similar to other victims’ accounts, this woman told police she was required to perform sex acts and was assigned a number.
Another woman police recently interviewed told them she lived in the house from November or December of 2022 until October of 2023, after signing a “visitor contract” to “enter the house.”
She told police she had to wear a pink collar, and was expected to cook and clean. She also told police Chronister “did not like that her stomach was bloated,” and put her on a “very restrictive diet.”
Court documents say the woman’s medical records showed when she went to the hospital for help, she weighed 99-pounds. She told police she was hospitalized for necessary critical care to prevent “life threatening deterioration,” spending five to seven days getting treatment for sepsis, shock, and dehydration.
She told police Chronister wouldn’t let her get medical help before that point, because he had enough medical training to take care of her. She said Chronister also told her “about being a Green Beret” and knowing anatomy “because he is a paramedic.” She says he then choked her until she was unconscious. She told police she was afraid to leave because Chronister had threatened a family member.
A third woman detailed in court records told police she moved into the house in May of 2017. She described the other women in the house as having a “slave tattoo” of a “beetle holding a poppy flower.”
She said, like other women interviewed by police, that she had to pay $600 to live there, and was expected to have “sex upon demand.” She said Chronister would “isolate them all from their family.”
This woman told police she had a dog while living at the house, and that if the dog left hair on the floor, Chronister would “hurt the dog.”
She also said Chronister would control their daily activities, and that he tracked them using the phone app Life360. She said Chronister would use sex as a punishment.
Court records state Chronister was in court on Tuesday after being arrested. A status conference is scheduled for Wednesday morning.
