Milwaukee Leads the Country in New Enrollments to Obamacare

The Health Care Enrollment deadline is just 10 days away.

Local and federal officials gathered at MATC earlier Thursday morning for Milwaukee's Day of Action.

Since open enrollment began in November, Wisconsin has about a quarter million people covered under Obamacare.

More than 82,000 are from the Milwaukee metro.

Milwaukee has the most new enrollments in the country.

The city in currently in the lead for the president's Healthy Communities’ Challenge.

Local and federal officials spent the morning urging people who do not have health insurance yet--to get enrolled as quickly as possible.

"One of the things that we have heard, complaints, is that the affordable care act is kind of the unaffordable care act to some people. people are still struggling to be able to afford coverage. There is a lot of work ahead of us, I do think that those people who are between 100 and 200% of the poverty level struggle greatly in the state,” said Congresswoman Gwen Moore.

If you need help enrolling, in person help will be available at the Zablocki library tomorrow from 1:30 to 5:30.
