MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's Arbor Day celebration focuses on the impact just one tree can have on our community.
A tree planting ceremony was held Friday morning, April 30, in the Riverwest neighborhood.
The ceremony took place along the Beerline Trail.
Spruce trees will be planted thanks to a donation from Black Husky Brewing.
The brewery used winter sales from its Sproose beer. The beer was brewed using branches from a different tree, Milwaukee's 2020 Christmas tree that was donated by a local family.
"When they tragically lost part of that, the boughs ended up in the special brew we used for the fundraising."
"Trees are more than just building materials, and also they can provide solace."
Students in Milwaukee took part in Friday's ceremony virtually.
