Milwaukee Fire and Police Department to host Blood Drive
The Milwaukee Fire and Police Department will be hosting a community blood drive this Friday and they want to get the word out now to spur donations.
We are now in the midst of summer, the most challenging time for blood banks to keep fully supplied with so many people on vacation which also in turn increases demand.
“More people are out on the roads because of vacations. As a result, there's more accidents, injuries. Car accidents or instance of crime. People need surgery and blood tranfusions to supplement whatever treatment they have,” said Sgt. Timothy Gauerke, Milwaukee Police Department.
This Friday's blood drive is at Academy on Teutnoia between Mill and Good Hope.
It starts at 10:00 AM and goes until three in the afternoon.
All donors will receive one free ticket to the Wisconsin State Fair and have peace of mind knowing you found a way to serve our community.
