MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- CBS 58 has an update about a Milwaukee Crime Stoppers case we've profiled before.

It was an execution-style killing that happened in a crowded Waz's Bar -- near 45th and Burleigh -- back on Nov. 17, 2019.

The armed and dangerous suspect, Christopher Stovall, who had been on the run has been captured -- thanks to U.S. Marshals and Crime Stoppers tips.

Milwaukee police say 49-year-old Stovall is the man who killed 42-year-old Romell O'Quin.

Around midnight, investigators say O'Quinn and Stovall got into an argument. The argument kept getting worse and that's when, police say, Stovall pulled out a gun and shot O'Quinn twice in the chest and in the head.

Anonymous Crime Stoppers callers gave authorities important information that led to Stovall's arrest in Dallas, Texas.

A large reward fund has been established and Milwaukee Crime Stoppers will pay out a total of $8,000 to those callers.

"He committed a more or less executive style murder on-camera in a bar full of people and we now have a killer off the street. The community is a lot safer now that this guy is behind bars. And we can hopefully bring the victim’s family a little closure as a result of U.S. Marshals and Crime Stoppers.” said Captain Craig Sarnow, Milwaukee Police Department.

In six months, Milwaukee Crime Stoppers has paid out nearly $5,000 in tips for close to ten crimes -- all because of anonymous tips from people who have called.

If you know anything about crime happening in your area, call 414-224-TIPS. It works and you could get a reward.
