MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Acting Milwaukee County Sheriff Richard Schmidt wants one of his own deputies fired after an OWI arrest in June.
Dashcam video from June 19 shows officers responding to a crash.
A car hit a hydrant in West Allis. The driver, Deputy Chad Haldemann was arrested for OWI.
On Tuesday, the Sheriff's Office confirmed Haldemann was suspended after other internal investigations. Sheriff Schmidt has now formally asked that Haldemann be fired.
He says, "I expect our deputies to hold the public accountable and in turn am committed to holding our deputies accountable."
