Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office hosts state K-9 conference
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County sheriff paid a visit to a few homes Tuesday, Nov. 26, but he wasn't working on typical police business.
Instead, Sheriff Earnell Lucas was delivering Thanksgiving turkeys with all the fixings to local families. There's no question that officers have a lot of day-to-day responsibilities, but Sheriff Lucas says there was nothing better he could be doing.Â
"No, there's nothing more important than serving the people in this community," he said. "We in law enforcement have so many ways to do that, and this is just one of many ways. No, we couldn't be doing anything better at this very moment."
The Sheriff's Office plans to donate turkeys to 55 families in the coming days leading up to Thanksgiving.
