Milwaukee child burned in fire

MILWAUKEE-The Milwaukee Fire Department confirms that a child was burned in a house fire Monday night.


The flames broke out at a property located at 1712 W. Capitol Drive.


Initial reports say the one year old child suffered burns on 20% of the body.


Investigators could not confirm the exact age or nature of the injuries.


The child was taken to a local hospital.


The fire broke out on the 1st floor of the duplex.


The first crews that arrived said there was heavy fire in the front.


The mother apparently escaped without serious injury.
