MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Bucks held a practice Tuesday morning, to tune up for their evening game at Fiserv Forum. But maybe the coolest thing they did all day came right after that practice.
They spent some quality time with four kids and their families -- young basketball fans who are fighting some serious health challenges.
One young man is fighting sickle cell anemia. He and three other kids got to hang and even work out a little with the Bucks players thanks to Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Giannis was there, Bobby Portis posed with the kids, and Dame Lillard handed out shoes for an unforgettable experience.
Our Lance Allan spoke with leukemia patient Anthony and his dad.
"Happy. Excited. I couldn't wait," said Anthony Martinez.
"Two years ago, we came to a game, basketball game. All the way to the top. And he says, 'I wish to be there, down there. I don't know when, but I wish to be there.' And his wish come true," said dad, Antonio Martinez.
The kids were signed to one-day contracts with the Bucks and at night, they'll be the team's guests, with their families, at the game against the Sacramento Kings.
They'll take home new shoes and autographs, and memories that hopefully will lift their spirits as they deal with their medical treatments.
