February goes into the records warm and dry
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- When the Democratic National Convention comes to Milwaukee next summer, bar closing times could be extended an extra two hours.
The only time bars stay open past 2 a.m. is on New Year's.
Jim Baade, owner of Duke's on Water, likes the idea of staying open until 4 a.m. next summer when thousands of delegates and political onlookers will call southeast Wisconsin home.
"I think it's a really interesting idea and I would welcome the experiment," Baade said.
Advocates for the change say city and county leaders have been receptive.
Still far from becoming a reality, a 4 a.m. bar close would bring Milwaukee closer to matching previous convention host cities.
The extension wouldn't just be confined to the area around Fiserv Forum. It would likely be in effect for much of southeast Wisconsin.
