Milwaukee area Polar Plunge registration open
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Hundreds of people across the Milwaukee are getting ready to plunge into icy water for Special Olympics Wisconsin athletes this February.
Two Polar Plunges are being in our are at Muskego County Park on February 10 and Milwaukee County Zoo on February 17. Ten other Polar Plunges will happen across Wisconsin this winter.
Money raised helps Special Olympics athletes compete in games at the state, national and even international level. Last year in Muskego and at the Milwaukee Zoo, over 650 plungers raised over $150,000 for athletes. Statewide, more than 6,000 brave and generous participants brought in more than $1.5 million.
Plungers who raise at least $75 will receive the official Polar Plunge long-sleeve shirt. Those raising more can earn additional items such as towels, sweatshirts, jackets, etc.
