MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Bakeries across Milwaukee are getting ready for Tuesday's Paczki Day or Fat Tuesday.
National Bakery in Milwaukee has been prepping for the day of indulgence for six weeks. The bakery's co-owner says they will make 36,000 of the sweet treats on Tuesday and that's not including the 10,000 made the day before.
"It's a crazy day. It's a lot of planning, production, set up, it makes it so it's a really fun day. The bakers in the back are really going to push it," Jeff Callen, co-owner of National Bakery said.
National Bakery also has locations in Greendale and Brookfield. The bakeries will also sell king cakes and t-shirts on Tuesday, March 5 and accordion players will entertain customers.
