MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Admirals sport the best record in the AHL and are aiming to clinch the first playoff spot in the league.
That could have happened Wednesday with some help from Grand Rapids.
The Ads did their part with a win over the San Antonio Rampage. Milwaukee found themselves in a tied game in the final frame, only to respond with a season high five unanswered goals.
"We've got a lot of skill and we've known that since day one," said Troy Grosenick. "We're going to score goals and hopefully Connor and I can keep enough out of the net. We just...we're a good team and we're confidence we're playing our game that we're going to win most nights."
"It has been harder because when you are the top dog everyone is chasing you, you're going to get everyone's best game, but the honest truth is I really enjoy it and our group enjoys it," said Karl Taylor.
There is still plenty of time with 13 games left in the regular season and the Ads have the firepower to make it interesting down the stretch.
Milwaukee currently has four players with 20-plus goals on the season.
