Miller Park ready for first soccer match Wednesday night

MILWAUKEE -- It could be a risky proposition, changing the field of a first place team.  But the Brewers don't think it will make a difference.

Miller Park doesn't have a pitchers mound or home plate right now.  Instead there are two soccer goals and spots for corner kicks.  Chivas and Swansea take over Miller Park for a friendly soccer match Wednesday night. The first ever at Miller Park.

The Brewers are enjoying the All-Star break. The team won't be back to play at Miller Park until Monday. Coordinating an event like this can be tricky. Trying to fit it in during an 81 game home baseball schedule can be hard.

\"There's always a concern,\" Brewers VP Jason Hartlund said.   \"As much as we do want to have unique events at Miller Park outside of the baseball,     we are first and foremost a Major League Baseball facility. The focus is always on making sure that our field is Major League ready....we felt comfortable.\"

The parking lot opens at 4:30 pm Wednesday. Gates open at 6:30, the match starts at 8:00.  There are still tickets available.
