"It is important just to expand hours on weekends when other people during the week may not be able to come to the site,” Dr. Tomaro said.
Dr. Tomaro says you need to know the right time to be tested.
“We really want to stress always that those who are experiencing symptoms are obviously those that we focus on and then when you do have a close contact exposure confirmed to somebody with COVID-19 you really want to focus on the idea of timing of testing. So, you want to wait 3--5 days after that close contact," said Dr. Tomaro.
As the holidays are quickly approaching, Dr. Tomaro says you need to be smart while celebrating to stay safe.
"This holiday season is really difficult for everyone. I think that we are trying to limit our time in larger group settings and especially indoor settings so as hard as it is for everyone really the guidance is you're trying to have holidays with your immediate family,” Dr. Tomaro said.
The Miller Park location consistently exceeds its designed capacity of 2,000 tests daily. While Miller Park gets the greatest public attention, everyone is reminded that a variety of testing alternatives including healthcare providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers, and pharmacies exist.
