MFD Responds to two early morning house fires

The Milwaukee Fire Department responded to two house fires early Saturday morning.  The first call came in around 5:40 AM for a fire in the upper floor of a 1 and ½ story wood frame house at N 13th Street and W Keefe Avenue.  Fire fighters were on scene of the fire for about two hours.  The Red Cross was called to assist the residents of the home.   The cause of the fire is under investigation and there is not estimate of the dollar loss.

Just before 8 o’clock Saturday morning, a fire was reported in a single family home at N 26th Street and W Medford Avenue.  According to the Milwaukee Fire Department, the fire was located on the first floor of the 2 and ½ story wood frame home.  Fire fighters were able to contain the blaze in about fifteen minutes.   The residents of the home were able to get out of the house without injury and the Red Cross was called for assistance.  The dollar amount of damage is undetermined and the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
