MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 22-year-old pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle on Lovers Lane near Silver Spring Drive, according to Milwaukee police.

The crash happened Tuesday, April 29 at around 8:45 p.m. as the pedestrian was crossing the street and was hit by a southbound vehicle.

Police said the 29-year-old driver remained at the scene and was taken into custody. Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.

The pedestrian was transported to a hospital for emergency treatment. Milwaukee police continue to investigate.
