We have not had much heat this August. Overall, temperatures are running cooler than average. The warmest temperatures so far this month is 87 back on August 16th. High temperatures the rest of August look to stay in the upper 70s and low 80s. The warmest day currently in the forecast through the end of August is tomorrow, Wednesday, where 84 is the forecast high.
With this August on track to not hit 90 degrees for the first time in over ten years, we looked back at how many Augusts have failed to reach that 90 degree mark. 45 total years in Milwaukee's weather history have failed to hit 90 degrees during the month of August. But that doesn't mean that our heat is totally done. Eleven of those years that did not hit 90 in August DID reach that mark during the month of September.
Our next chance for rain will arrive within the next 24 hours. Most of the day Tuesday remains dry, but after sunset the chance for showers and storms will return. Some of those areas of rain could linger into early Wednesday morning. The storm chance for Wednesday afternoon/evening has trended a bit drier, but an isolated storm is still possible.
