WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Metcalfe's has announced that they will work to assist those federal workers who are currently furloughed.

“We want to help federal workers in our communities affected by the government shutdown by offering them the same discount our employees enjoy every day – 20% off.”, said co-owner Tim Metcalfe.

Starting on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, federal employees can present their government-issued federal worker identification to the cashier when checking out Metcalfe’s Hilldale, West Towne and Wauwatosa and will receive twenty percent off their grocery order (excluding alcohol, tobacco, gift card and lottery purchases).

This discount is valid on purchases up to $200 through January 31, 2019 or until the government shutdown ends.

This discount is not valid at Metcalfe’s Dane County Regional Airport location or for online and delivery purchases from shopmetcalfes.com.

Metcalfe's Market is a fourth-generation, family-owned market with two locations in Madison (Hilldale and West Towne), and one in the Village in Wauwatosa.
