MILWAUKEE COUNTY (CBS 58) – Two men are facing charges in connection to high-speed chases and thefts in Milwaukee County.
According to a criminal complaint, Jonathan Gonzalez and Daniel Hernandez were both driving stolen cars in May when they took off from police.
Authorities used stop sticks, but both vehicles continued to drive at more than 100 miles per hour.
One car eventually got flat tires and everyone inside got into the second car and drove off.
Eventually police used a maneuver to get the car to stop. That’s when court documents say Hernandez got out and ran. He was later caught and taken into custody.
Gonzalez and another passenger drove off. Several stolen wallets, cell phones and keys were later found inside one of the cars.
During an interview with police, Hernandez said the two liked to “joy ride” in the stolen cars for two or three days.
