Medical examiner responds to fatal car vs bus accident

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office is responding to a fatal crash involving a school bus near the intersection of 60th and Villard.

The Milwaukee Police Department says the crash happened just before 2:00 p.m. Witnesses say the car was traveling north on 60th St. and failed to stop at a red light. The car crossed the center lane, struck the center lane light pole, and hit the front of a school bus. The car flipped over before coming to a stop.

The 40-year-old Milwaukee man driving the car died at the scene, and the 68-year-old male bus driver was injured. The bus driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

No children were on the school bus at the time of the accident.
