Chilly Election Day, then wintry mix and showers return
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee County will honor the life, legacy and courage of a civil rights pioneer next week.
From Sunday, Dec. 1-Tuesday, Dec. 3, the Milwaukee County Transit System will keep a seat open on every bus.
Monday, Dec. 2 marks the 64th anniversary of Parks' arrest after refusing to give up her bus seat to a white man in Montgomery, Alabama. That led to a landmark Supreme Court ruling that outlawed segregation on public transportation.
Each reserved seat will include a red rose and a special placard that features Parks' photo and a message about her courageous act.
This is the fourth year that MCTS has organized an on-board tribute to Rosa Parks.
