Officials identify MCTS bus driver who died after suffering medical incident during shift

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) bus driver who passed away during his shift has been identified as 47-year-old Augie Biami. 

Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley shared the news and the following statement: 

“On behalf of Milwaukee County, I offer my heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family and friends of Augie Biami who passed away unexpectedly yesterday while on duty. He was a faithful and dedicated public servant who served his community well. He will be missed greatly by his Milwaukee County family.”

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) bus driver died unexpectedly during his shift Tuesday, May 25.

Officials say the 47-year-old suffered a medical incident while parked at a layover near 13th and College in Milwaukee.

MCTS says he had worked with the company since November of 2020.

"We are grateful for his service and dedication to the community," MCTS said in a statement Tuesday. "We offer our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and co-workers during this difficult time."

The ME's office is expected to release more information in the coming days.
