MCSO: 5 taken into custody after chase, authorities search for 6th suspect

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Several agencies participated in a vehicle pursuit and a foot chase on Thursday, June 6. 

A stolen vehicle pursuit was initiated by the Saint Francis Police Department. 

According to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, the vehicle entered the freeway near Penn Ave, and exited near Carferry Drive. The vehicle crashed shortly after. 

The sheriff's office says multiple people fled on foot at the Lake Express Ferry parking lot.  

The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office K-9 squad was able to secure and detain four suspects. Authorities say a fifth suspect was subsequently taken into custody. 

One suspect remained at large as of 8:15 p.m., according to the sheriff's office. 

The Milwaukee Fire Department responded to treat one fleeing suspect who was bitten by a K-9, and to recover another subject who had jumped into the water. 

The investigation and search for the sixth subject is ongoing.
