MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett is facing a challenge from State Senator Lena Taylor in the April 7 election.
According to Governor Evers, the election will still go on despite legal challenges brought on by coronavirus concerns.
The candidates talked about Milwaukee's response to the pandemic during an online candidate forum Monday, March 30.
"What you have seen is you have seen the city responding very, very quickly in many, many different areas and the coordination is getting stronger," Mayor Barrett said. "I don't think this is the time to throw out that coordination, that cooperation, that communication."
"When we are nearly a month into this and we're just getting to the place that we're finding somewhere for our homeless population to be, that is..that is a part of why communal spread is the way it is," said Senator Taylor.
Barrett and Taylor spend about an hour talking about the issues facing Milwaukee.
