MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An iconic hotdog joint on Milwaukee's south side will be closing its location on 13th and Layton.
Martino's opened 48 years ago, serving up Chicago-style hotdogs, Italian beef sandwiches and more.
"Words can't express how grateful we are for the love, laughter, and memories we've shared with you," Martino's said in a social media post Tuesday, Nov. 4. "While this isn't goodbye forever, it's time to reflect on this incredible journey we've shared."
The restaurant invited customers to stop by in the coming weeks to celebrate and share their favorite stories.
Martino's was packed Tuesday, and co-owner TJ Anderson tells us it was a record day for sales as people come to say goodbye.
"The love and support from the customers has been overwhelming," Anderson said. "I don't think I have any more tears left in my eyes."
Martino's says their last day open will be Friday, Dec. 19.
