Marshfield Woman to be Charged with Kidnapping in Georgia
RICHMOND COUNTY- (WSAW) A 52-year-old Marshfield woman has been arrested in Georgia after investigators said she drove her 11-year-old daughter to Georgia to meet a 12-year-old girl.
Annette Zopfi is facing kidnapping charges in Richmond County, Ga.
Investigators said the preliminary investigation revealed the two girls had met on a YouTube channel and had been talking to each other for approximately one year through the site and Skype.
Investigators say the 12-year-old convinced the 11-year old and her mother that it would be okay for them to come to Georgia and take her back to their home in Wisconsin to live. Deputies say the 12-year-old girl arranged the meeting and began to travel back to Wisconsin.
Investigators said they drove about an hour and a half and crossed state lines and were arrested in Newberry County, South Carolina.
Details about Zopfi's alleged motive and intentions have not been released.
